Hue City delegation worked and presented souvenirs to the Vietnamese Consul General in Sydney
This activity is part of the Vietnamese Local Promotion Program in Australia 2025 chaired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Also attending the discussion were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Consul General of Vietnam in Sydney; Mr. Andrew Goledzinowski AM, former Australian Ambassador to Vietnam; and more than 120 leading Australian businesses and corporations operating in the fields of construction, education, tourism, energy, technology, investment and trade.
Comrade Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee spoke at the seminar.
At the seminar, Comrade Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of the City People’s Committee, introduced to businesses and investors the potential and investment opportunities in Hue city. He affirmed the locality’s desire to expand cooperation with Australian investors and businesses, especially in the field of infrastructure construction of economic zones, industrial zones, new urban areas, production fields such as supporting industries; electronics, semiconductors; biotechnology, high-tech agriculture, logistics… Investment projects in Hue city will be applied the highest preferential policies of the city and the Vietnam Investment Law such as commitment to support infrastructure to the fence of projects; support in providing labor resources, training local labor resources. On behalf of the leaders of Hue city, Comrade Nguyen Van Phuong conveyed the message: Hue city is always ready and warmly welcomes local investors.
Next, the Management Board of the City’s Economic and Industrial Zones, Kim Long Motors Joint Stock Company and Saigon Hue Investment Joint Stock Company also provided detailed information about the investment environment and infrastructure of key economic and industrial zones in Hue City, as well as discussed the investment implementation process of local businesses. The program also received many questions and discussions from Australian business leaders, and many delegates visited and learned about Hue City’s promotional booth.

Also in the working program, the Hue City delegation also worked with Comrade Nguyen Thanh Tung, Consul General of Vietnam in Sydney. The Vietnamese Consul General in Sydney highly agreed with the discussions and proposals of Comrade Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee on strengthening cooperation between Hue City and Australian partners; affirmed that the Consulate General will pay attention to promoting cooperation and investment between Australian localities in the consular area with Vietnamese localities in general as well as Hue City in particular; ready to promote the image, introduce the potential and advantages of Hue City to businesses in Sydney, and will play a bridging role with investors, organizations and companies wishing to explore the market and invest in cooperation with Hue City in the future.
Also within the framework of the working program in Sydney, on August 15, 2025, the delegation had a working session with Mr. Robert Kok, Deputy Mayor of Sydney. At the meeting, the Deputy Mayor affirmed the desire of both localities to expand friendly cooperation in many fields, based on the similarities in strengths between the two localities. The Chairman of the City People’s Committee hopes that in the coming time, Hue City and Sydney City will increase delegation exchanges, implement exchange activities, and move towards signing a friendly cooperation agreement in the future, thereby creating a basis for implementing cooperation programs in areas of mutual interest to both localities such as education and training, tourism promotion, heritage conservation and development, investment, trade, logistics, people-to-people exchange, etc.
