Hanoitourist accompanies Hanoi delegation to promote tourism cooperation in New Zealand and Australia

In order to strengthen and promote the friendly and cooperative relations between Hanoi and the capitals and localities of countries around the world, to implement the 2025 foreign affairs plan of the City Party Committee, at the invitation of the Council, the Government of the capital and cities of the countries, from March 26 to April 4, 2025, a high-ranking delegation of Hanoi led by Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan visited and worked in Australia and New Zealand. The delegation included Standing Committee member of the City Party Committee, Head of the City Party Committee’s Internal Affairs Committee Do Anh Tuan; Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen; leaders of a number of departments, branches, districts and towns; leaders of the city’s enterprises, including General Director of Hanoi Tourism Corporation Nguyen Thi Van.

Within the framework of the working visit to New Zealand, the Hanoi City Delegation organized a meeting program with Vietnamese and New Zealand businesses.

At the meeting, Hanoi leaders mentioned many areas of cooperation, including introducing the potential and strengths of Vietnam’s tourism industry in general and Hanoi tourism in particular. With advantages in cultural heritage, scenic spots and increasingly complete infrastructure, Vietnam is becoming an attractive destination on the world tourism map. In 2024, Vietnam’s tourism industry aims to welcome about 18 million international visitors, of which Hanoi aims to attract 5.5 million international visitors and 21.5 million domestic visitors.

To achieve this goal, Hanoi is focusing on developing typical tourism products such as cultural tourism, MICE tourism, eco-tourism, resort and healthcare tourism. The city is also promoting the application of digital technology in promotion and advertising activities, while strengthening cooperation with international partners to expand the market and attract visitors from key regions such as Northeast Asia, Europe, the US, as well as potential markets such as India, the Middle East and Oceania.

The Hanoi City government welcomes and encourages foreign enterprises to invest and cooperate in the tourism sector, especially in developing smart, sustainable tourism associated with digital transformation. These are considered important orientations to improve service quality, optimize visitor experience and make tourism a key economic sector of the capital in the coming time.

Hanoitourist General Director Nguyen Thi Van signed a memorandum of understanding at the Conference.

Also within the framework of the working trip, on March 31, in Sydney, Australia, at the Hanoi – Australia Investment Promotion Conference, Vietnamese enterprises at the Conference established cooperative relations with Australian partners, the agreements signed covered many important areas reflecting the potential for extensive cooperation between Hanoi and Australia. In particular, in the field of tourism, Hanoi Tourism Corporation (Hanoitourist) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with TOP TOUR PTY, LTD, marking an important step forward in bilateral cooperation, committing to strengthen connectivity, promote two-way exchange of visitors, as well as cooperate in developing specific tourism products suitable to the needs of each market.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding, the two parties wish to conduct research and develop joint products to exploit the strengths of each Party; enhance and resonate the value of each Party’s products and services through the design of joint products and services; enhance the brand value and reputation of each Party through joint products and services; and prioritize the use of each Party’s services.

Signing the Memorandum of Understanding not only opens up opportunities for extensive cooperation between businesses but also contributes to promoting tourism cooperation between Hanoi and Australia, towards sustainable and effective development.

The Conference was a great success.
