Seminar on promoting economic, trade and tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Australia: Tay Ninh expands investment opportunities

The seminar was attended by the Trade and Investment Commission, more than 120 senior Australian business leaders, the Vietnamese Consul General in Sydney and leaders of three localities including Tay Ninh, Dien Bien and Hue.
Here, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Minh Lam introduced the potentials and strengths of Tay Ninh and suggested strategic cooperation areas in the coming time.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Lam said that Tay Ninh possesses a strategic geo-economic and political position, located on the East-West Economic Corridor axis, adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City and belonging to the Southeast region – the most dynamic and developed economic region in the country.
In addition, Tay Ninh province also has Long An International Port – a seaport capable of receiving ships with a capacity of up to 70,000 DWT, helping to shorten the time and cost of transporting goods.
With these outstanding advantages, Tay Ninh is not only a strategic “bridge” between key economic regions in the country, but also plays the role of an important gateway connecting trade, tourism and international cooperation, especially in the context of increasingly deep and wide regional economic integration.
“We are particularly interested in high-tech agriculture, linked to processing and export along the value chain. In addition, the province also wishes to cooperate in other potential areas such as technology transfer for circular livestock farming, wind power development, renewable energy, and cooperation in scientific research, digital transformation and education and training,…” – Mr. Nguyen Minh Lam emphasized.

The speakers at the seminar all highly appreciated the Vietnam-Australia cooperation relationship. Bilateral import and export turnover is forecast to reach more than 24 billion Australian dollars by 2024. Australia also aims to strengthen cooperation with Southeast Asian countries, of which Vietnam is a strategic partner. This relationship is not only limited to trade but also extends to culture, education and local cooperation.
The seminar is an important “bridge”, helping localities and businesses of the two countries get closer together, creating momentum for sustainable and effective development in the future./.
