The Cook Labor Government has announced a $49 million AUD support package for local housing manufacturers to accelerate housing supply across Western Australia.

THROUGH THE HOUSING INNOVATION FUND, 15 PROJECTS WILL RECEIVE UP TO $5 MILLION AUD EACH TO EXPAND:

▸ Prefabrication

▸ Modular housing

▸ Offsite manufacturing

▸ Modern Methods of Construction (MMC)

▸ Advanced construction manufacturing technologies

THIS INVESTMENT AIMS TO:

▸ Rapidly increase housing supply

▸ Reduce construction timeframes

▸ Boost construction industry productivity

▸ Support domestic manufacturing

▸ Drive technological innovation across Australia’s construction sector

This forms part of the Cook Government’s broader plan to drive housing development, backed by a record $4.7 billion AUD housing allocation in the State Budget.

The message from the Western Australian Government is clear:

Modular construction and MMC are no longer experimental solutions — they are becoming a critical component of Australia’s national housing strategy.
