At the annual Leaders’ Meeting on March 7, 2024, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced the elevation of the Vietnam-Australia bilateral relationship to the level of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This move comes in the context of Australia’s efforts to diversify its supply chain to avoid complete dependence on China, opening up many opportunities for Vietnamese businesses, and enhancing trade and investment connections between the two countries.
