building activity data due this week from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, which will release construction figures on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Construction started on more than 53,000 homes in the December quarter, up 8% on the previous quarter and 26% over the year.<\/p>\n\n  <p>Tom Devitt, senior economist at the Housing Industry Association, said dwelling commencements were likely to keep rising in the March quarter.
