The Australian Financial Review<\/em> identifies pre-fabricated and modular housing<\/strong> as one of the nine key business trends to watch in 2026<\/strong>, as the industry looks for faster and more productive ways to address Australia\u2019s housing crisis.<\/p>\n

AFR notes that pre-fab homes can be built and installed in four months or less<\/strong>, helping lift productivity at a time when Australia builds half as many homes per hour worked as it did 30 years ago<\/strong>. Although pre-fab currently represents around 5% of homes<\/strong>, international markets show far higher adoption.<\/p>\n
