The forum recently held in Sydney, Australia, provided an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to connect and build potential export and investment cooperation relationships with real estate developers and construction companies in Australia.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to a VNA reporter in Sydney, in order to promote the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, with the support of the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese Trade Office in Australia, Pistis Group organized the Vietnam-Australia Construction Materials Export Forum and Cooperation in the Construction and Real Estate Sector 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is one of the first trade promotion activities between the two countries after Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh announced the upgrading of bilateral relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit to Australia on March 7.<\/span><\/p>\n

The forum attracted more than 120 delegates, including representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia; Vietnamese Trade Counselor in Australia; representatives of the New South Wales Business Association (Business NSW); Australia-Vietnam Business Association (AVBC); Ho Chi Minh City Construction and Building Materials Association (SACA), Binh Duong Construction Association (BDCA); Ho Chi Minh City Handicraft and Wood Processing Association (HAWA); Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank – South Binh Duong branch; experts, construction material manufacturing enterprises, construction enterprises, real estate development enterprises from Vietnam and Australia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Nguyen Phu Hoa, Vietnam Trade Counselor in Australia, welcomed Vietnamese businesses and pledged that the Trade Office would support Vietnamese businesses in exploring the market and exporting to Australia.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the forum, representatives of Vietnamese construction material manufacturers introduced advanced Vietnamese construction material products and technologies, affirming their quality and competitiveness in the international market.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking at the forum, Mr. Grame Barty, International Trade Advisor of Business NSW, said that Australia’s housing demand is 1.2 million units, of which New South Wales alone has 320,000 units, and this is a “golden opportunity” for Vietnamese construction material manufacturing enterprises to export to the Australian market.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Ms. Azalia Canuto-Ahmat, Secretary of the Australian Business Association, stated that Vietnam presented the development and needs of the housing market for the Aboriginal community.<\/span><\/p>\n

She said a 10-year, $4 billion (US$2.7 billion) deal had been signed between the federal government and the Northern Territory government to build 270 homes a year for remote Aboriginal communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the forum, a contract signing ceremony was also held between Viettel Construction Joint Stock Corporation and HBC Build Australia on the procurement of construction materials for Ramada Sky Hotel and a housing project for people over 50 years old in Warwick, a town in Queensland (Australia).<\/span><\/p>\n

The representative of the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia acknowledged the opinions at the forum, shared the efforts of the Embassy in recent times to connect businesses and promote Vietnamese products, and committed to continue accompanying businesses in the future.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the Q&A session lasting over 1 hour, Vietnamese construction material manufacturers shared their experiences in exporting construction materials, effective market access strategies, helping Vietnamese enterprises improve their capacity, better prepare for the export process and directly consulted with Mr. Jonathan McCray, materials engineer at ARUP Company, about Australian quality standards and import regulations.<\/span><\/p>\n
