Park Hyatt Sydney, Australia, May 15, 2024 \u2014 Promotion Of Building Material Trade And Cooperation In Construction & Property Development Australia Vietnam Summit 2024 was a resounding success. The event was organized by Pistis Group with the support of the Embassy of Vietnam in Australia and the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia.<\/p>\n

The forum attracted more than 120 delegates, including representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia; Vietnam Trade Counselor in Australia; Business NSW; Australia Vietnam Business Council (AVBC); Ho Chi Minh City Association of Construction and Building Materials (SACA); Binh Duong Construction Association (BDCA); Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of HCMC (HAWA); MB Bank \u2013 South Binh Duong Branch; experts; and businesses involved in the production of building materials, construction, and real estate development from both Vietnam and Australia.<\/p>\n

This forum marked one of the first trade promotion events between the two nations following the announcement by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to elevate the bilateral relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership at the Annual Leaders’ Meeting on March 7, 2024.<\/p>\n

Mr. Nguyen Phu Hoa, Vietnam Trade Counselor in Australia, welcomed Vietnamese enterprises and reaffirmed the Vietnam Trade Office\u2019s commitment to supporting Vietnamese companies in market exploration and export activities in Australia.<\/p>\n

According to Mr. Grame Barty, International Trade Advisor of Business NSW, Australia needs 1.2 million new homes by 2029, including 375,000 new homes in NSW alone over the next five years. This presents a golden opportunity for Vietnamese building materials manufacturers to export to the Australian market.<\/p>\n

Ms. Azalia Canuto-Ahmat, AVBC Secretary, discussed the housing development and demand for Indigenous Australians. A 10-year agreement worth AUD 4 billion between the Federal Government and the Northern Territory Government aims to construct 270 homes per year for remote Indigenous communities.<\/p>\n
