Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade Delegation on a Site Visit to Port Botany

Sydney, Australia — As part of its working program in Australia, PISTIS GROUP was honoured to help organise and accompany a delegation from Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade on a site visit to Port Botany — the largest container port in New South Wales and one of Australia's most important trade gateways.

A Strategic Gateway for Australia–Vietnam Trade

Port Botany handles the majority of containerised imports and exports for Sydney and New South Wales, with deep-water berths, modern gantry crane systems, and logistics infrastructure connected directly to the interstate road and rail network. It is also a key transhipment point for building materials, industrial equipment, and commercial goods flowing between Vietnam and Australia.

During the visit, the delegation toured the container terminal precinct, observed vessel operations, and learned about the port's internationally benchmarked operating model — from cargo-handling infrastructure and freight-flow management to the safety and environmental standards applied on site.

With an ecosystem operating in parallel across Sydney and Ho Chi Minh City, PISTIS GROUP served as a bridge for the program — supporting the itinerary and facilitating the field visit to Port Botany, Sydney.

The Port Botany visit provided practical, on-the-ground perspective on:

• Port infrastructure capacity serving Vietnamese export flows into the Australian market;
• Logistics and customs-clearance processes for building materials, modular components, and industrial cargo;
• Opportunities to expand bilateral trade, particularly as the Vietnam–Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership creates favourable momentum for businesses in both countries.
